Horticulture Classes

What separated Olmsted’s art from that of the gardener was what he termed the  “elegance of design”— the creation of a composition in which all parts were  subordinated to a single, coherent effect.

Cut Specimens

Each entry will be one stem or branch not to exceed 24” in total length. Any foliage must  be attached to the stem. Photographs should be taken against a solid white background unless the bloom is white or a very pale color, in which case a solid black background is permissible. Specimens should be exhibited in a manner that best allows the entry to stand up straight for ease of photographing the entry, for example, a metal flower frog or a clear glass bottle/container. Saran Wrap may be used for wedging. Specimens propagated by the exhibitor must include a propagation card (available on entry card).
