Welcome to the 2022

Garden Club of America

Annual Meeting Flower Show

Hosted by Zone IV

Flower Shows are unique spaces for observing and learning about plants, conservation, and garden design.

This virtual flower show, “Pathways from the Palisades to the Pinelands,” has been produced as a component of the GCA’s 2022 Annual Meeting. It is open to the public through September 30, 2022. We welcome curious visitors — look and learn!

Entries are grouped into classes with specific requirements within a division, like floral design or photography. You may explore in any order, taking note of statements of intent, entry card information, and even plant identification lists. Then head behind the scenes for details about how entries are made, to learn more about The Garden Club of America, and discover how you can take action in areas of our interest: gardening, creating, advocating for a beautiful, healthy planet.

Floral Design Division

Floral design is an artistic expression of beauty, harmony, and distinction while following the principles of design. See how the exhibitors interpret each class and marvel at how they visualize Balance, Contrast, Dominance, Proportion, Scale and Rhythm!

Horticulture Division

Horticulturalists have a passion for growing, nurturing and beautifying the world and sharing this wonder with others. As you explore the entries, observe the details. Notice the judges’ comments about the entries. Do you agree with their critique and decisions?

Photography Division

A photographer works in an almost unconscious manner by photographing what interests and attracts their sense of imagination, place and time. The end result is an image that has been filtered through their style and perspective. Explore how the entrants in this division interpret the class description and follow their journey behind the lens!

Botanical Arts Division

Creativity meets botanical materials in this division. Let yourself get lost in the combinations of texture, shape, and color. Consider how these entrants arrived at the artistic interpretations of each class. And yes, these botanical arts entries really are made of all natural materials!

Education Division

This year the division honors the Mighty Oak. Oak trees are essential to protecting and conserving our environment through soil stabilization, watershed management, carbon sequestration, and as sources of food and shelter for more wildlife than any other tree genus. Understanding the keystone role oaks play in our ecosystems will foster greater preservation and use in rural, suburban, and urban landscapes.

We are so glad you are here!
